Ditch the dryer sheets in favor of all natural wool dryer balls. Super easy to make. All you need is wool yarn, panty hose and a washer/dryer.
If you don’t want to make your own dryer balls, you can Buy them here!
Do you ever go to your local yarn shop and ooh and aahh and drool over all the beautiful yarn colorways? Did you know that you can dye up your own lovely yarn? In my Beginner’s Guide to Hand Dyeing Yarn, I share with you my tips and techniques.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: I love love love Fingerless Gloves! Love em. And I love making them, too. So far, I’ve only knitted fingerless gloves but I’m anxious to try crochet. (Much faster :)) Here’s a great roundup of free fingerless glove patterns to try.
In #3 up there, I showed you how to dye yarn with conventional methods. Here, I’m showing you a natural dyeing technique using black walnuts. This method works for more than yarn, tho. Black walnuts dye (stain) EVERYTHING including fabric and your deck!
This foaming hand soap recipe was my #1 most shared Pin of the year! And to this day, I make my own foaming hand soap. Even my husband has started mixing it up. It’s sooooo easy and saves money. You can make a bottle of this foaming soap for as little as 15 cents. Yup!
Have you seen all of the posts lately about making yarn from old t-shirts? I thought, hey why not try making yarn from denim? Denim is a wonderful, versatile and strong fabric that is easy to come by. And, making yarn from old jeans is super easy and quick! You can be knitting or crocheting with it in no time at all!
Have you ever looked … really looked at the ingredient list on a simple bottle of lotion? What the heck are all those things anyway? And I don’t know if you’ve noticed but there are some lotions and lip balms which seem to make my skin worse. The cool thing is, we have a choice. We can make our own beauty products.
9. How to Tie Dye a Heart (or any other shape)
This tie dyed heart was my first attempt at tie dyeing a specific shape. It’s a little more fussy than other folding techniques but I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. This tie dye technique is great for any other shape such as a guitar, horse or dog. Tie-Dye Kit
Have you accidentally spilled bleach on your shirt and just threw it away? Well, has it ever occurred to you to use bleach on purpose to decorate fabric? If that old pair of jeans you used to love could use some help then why not pretty it up the easy way with a good old Bleach Pen
