Imagination will take you Everywhere!”
~ Albert Einstein
We Americans live in a culture that glorifies textbook learning, don’t we? How many times did I argue with my kids’ school principals and counselors about their need for physical activity, music, art! But, unfortunately you can’t really test for those subjects so they’re not on the schedule. Tragic, if you ask me.
Logical thought can be taught through English, Math and History but Imagination has to come from within. Imagination comes from playing music, making a big mess with paint and dyes or just walking around in the woods or a museum!
It’s time we put Play back on the schedule not just for us but for future generations. It’s just as important as learning reading, writing and arithmetic.
Go out and play!
