Great plan, Mr. Picasso! Do you know people that never try anything new? Never do anything different? Probably because they are afraid of failure. How will it make me look if I screw this up? Well, that just silly, isn’t it? How will you ever grow if you stay in your own little box??

I don’t believe that we are here to do everything right. Exactly the opposite! I firmly believe that we are here to try and experiment and learn and grow. And the only way to do that is to tackle new adventures and make mistakes. Lots of them!

Short story: My husband, Tom, is a musician, specifically a guitar player. When he was in his early 20s, his best friend – a guitar player and teacher – was moving to Texas and he asked my hubby to take his students. Tom told him he didn’t know anything about teaching guitar and Syd replied “You only have to know more than they do”. Being a starving artist, Tom took the students and learned the lessons one week before he taught them to his students. How’s that for stretching yourself?? And here he is about 30 years later, arguably the best known guitar teacher in town and you know what? He loves it!

So, the moral of this story is … Go out, try something new and make mistakes!
    Namaste,
    Annette
