How do you get inspired to create?

Where do you get your inspiration?  Most of the time, my creativity goes into high gear while I am in the middle of working on a felted piece. I get constant flashes of  ‘oooohhh, that would be cool!’ or what if I try this next time?

I keep an Idea Journal where I write or draw inspirations as they come to me, but I’m guilty of letting that fleeting thought pass without writing it down.

And every once in a while, when I get the urge to felt, my mind goes blank.  Hard to believe because my mind is rarely ever quiet.

So, just like with everything else these days, I turn to the internet and search for Art. Not necessarily felted pieces, but art in general. Browsing through page after page of images of beautiful art is generally enough to get the creative juices flowing again.

That’s how I found this incredible piece:

Kentucky Blue Fiber Co.

Glass Kimono by Markow & Norris

A glass kimono created by Markow & Norris at wovenglass.com.  Talk about inspiration! I can’t wait to get started on a felted shawl with those wonderful colors. And… mine will be wearable :)

Have a happy week!
